The foundation for D.W. Wilburn began in 1984 when D.L. Masonry was formed and began working in the commercial masonry industry. Through hard work and relentless effort, the company grew into one of the largest masonry subcontractors in the state within only five years.

Two years later D.W. Wilburn was formed by Douglas L. and William A. Wilburn with the goal of becoming one of the most reputable commercial construction companies in the state.

Understanding that great things happen in small steps, the company began by purposefully seeking out smaller projects to showcase quality of work. The firm built a foundation of key personnel which is second to none in the commercial construction industry while increasing their bonding capacity and building a solid reputation one job at a time.

More than 25 years later, D.W. Wilburn has grown to be one of the largest and most respected commercial construction companies in the state. The firm’s size hasn’t changed the core principals - providing a quality service that meets the users’ needs and exceeds the owner’s expectations, all while maintaining quality, budget and time control.

The company is known for its open and professional relationships with owners, architects, engineers, consultants and contractors, which improves efficiency and effectiveness throughout the project. Constant communication, problem-solving and utilizing past experience to enhance each project are the keys to success.

The first priority is quality, both in workmanship and in service. Hiring skilled employees and subcontractors, enforcing strict management policies and providing professional supervision during all phases of the project have made D.W. Wilburn into the well-respected company it is today.

Even with many skilled employees on staff, approximately 75 percent of all projects are contracted to the lowest, qualified subcontractor, allowing the company to keep operating costs at a minimum while concentrating on quality control, management and coordination of projects.
